The problems of adaptation: narration and the role of the male perspective in pride and prejudice and in one of its adaptations
Absztrakt
This thesis includes the BBC's series, Pride and Prejudice and its new male perspective, while ellaborating on the problems of the techniques of adaptations that come from the different narrations of the original novel. The aim is to examine how the originally female oriented point of view shifts to the male protagonist in the series, and to compare the novel's major male character to the series' Mr Darcy.
