The Importance of African American Participation in the Second World War and its Legal and Social Background

Abstract

The aim of the thesis is to clarify the social and legal background of the African Americans in the United States before and during the Second World War, furthermore, to highlight the importance of people of color's participation in the military conflict by listing particular all-black units. The positive consequences and the legacy of the participation are also analyzed in detail.
