The primary aim of my thesis is to present these two conflicting “worlds” surrounding unauthorized Mexican immigration to the United States. One of them is dominated by hypocrisy and the media and is full of various acts, provisions and strictness, while the other one, the real one that involves actual humans and their lives, remains unnoticed behind the first. In this paper, I intend to examine, first of all, the most essential acts and actions the U.S. Government applied from the 1980s in order seemingly to regulate either legal or illegal Mexican immigration to the U.S., and on the other hand, I also wish to provide an insight into the real situation along the U.S.-Mexico border by displaying stories, experiences and facts concerning the human participants in this issue.
