Political Reality in Comics: Debunking the Superhero Myths in an Evolving Medium
Absztrakt
This thesis investigates how significant historical events such as the World War II influenced comic books as a medium. It also emphasizes the political messages represented in comic books while distinguising between art with a message and propaganda. The examples of superheroes created to address historical issues and empower individuals include Captain America and Wonder Woman. The thesis analyzes how comics have changed as a representation of current American culture as a result of the shift in medium by exploring comics interpreted to movie screens.
