dc.description.abstractThis thesis is a literature review, talking about joint pain and the different modalities and molecular basis of joint pain. It discusses the pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics of the drugs used to treat joint pain including: NSAIDS, Opioids, Acetaminophen and topical medications. The Principle of the treatment of pain involving the WHO stepwise ladder and what type of joint pain the drugs can be used in, is touched on in this thesis. The newer and upcoming therapy like NGF inhibitors and why it use is not approved is also discussed.
