After giving a general outline of the concept hero and American hero worship along with the importance of presidency, especially that of the image of the American president I would like to concentrate on in what ways the American president is portrayed in a representative sample of presidential Hollywood feature films released during the Clinton era. Can presidential character be categorized and if yes, what are the most popular depictions? To what extent do public servants support or undermine the presidential character? How has President Bill Clinton influenced the fictional presidential characters appearing on the screen? This paper provides an attempt to find answers to these questions after taking a closer look at a selection of Hollywood movies.hu_HU
