dc.description.abstractIn my thesis, I am analysing the effects of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk’s presidency on the Republic of Türkiye between the formation of the Republic and Atatürk’s death in 1938. I am inspecting the impacts of his reforms on the economy, culture, and society of Türkiye. Mustafa Kemal was born into a simple family but achieved outstanding accomplishments in the secularisation of Türkiye. He drew up six main principles to tie his work to, with the overall goal being the modernisation of the country. While he had achievements in the reformation of the economy, it is his accomplishments in the alteration of the language and the society that are the most important. With his efforts, he created the foundation for Türkiye to be on par with the more developed countries of the West.
