Before I start the exploration of the various effects, I think a general history of the Celts might be indispensable and useful as well. It is really an interesting issue that almost everyone that I have asked what is the first thing that comes to their mind when they hear the word Celt, answered very similar things, like barbarism, vandalism, heavy drinking (they think of alcohol) and such disgusting features. I do not say that these remarks are not true or not valid to some extent, but this is just one side of the coin. This ancient group of people could not manage to survive and flourish for hundreds of years only by drinking themselves under the table and kill everybody around them. I think, very much is due to films and cartoons that are responsible for the sometimes false and one-sided demonstration of these ‘barbarian’ tribes. I would also like to put this issue in the limelight later on to show the other side of the Celts which they are also famous for (at least for some people).
