Modern treatment of stable angina

Abstract

Stable angina is the most common presentation of ischemic heart disease leading to death and decrease in quality of life, management of stable angina has two main goals, which are preventing myocardial infarction and providing symptomatic treatment for angina. Lifestyle modification is an important part of stable angina treatment which aims to decrease the risk factors which can lead to ischemic heart disease. Pharmacotherapy includes two main categories which are 1. Decrease symptoms of angina 2. Aims to improve prognosis and prolong life.
