Type 2 DM is a slowly progressive chronic disease in which the gradual deterioration of glucose tolerance is associated with progressive decrease in beta cell function. hypoglycemia in actual sense has deleterious effect on both beta-cell function and insulin action as well, which are partially reversible by the short-term control of blood glucose levels. in this article, an evidence-based clinical treatment are reviewed based on non-medical treatments, oral anti-diabetic medication and insulin therapy. A quick review is made on the most clinically used oral anti-diabetic medications. Review is made on their mechanism of actions, pharmacokinetics, adverse effects, and most importantly their clinical indications, as well as suggestive recommendations.hu_HU
