The Great Famine was one of the darkest decade of Irish history. As a result of the combination of previous historical events, the negligence of the British government and the sudden appearance of the potato blight, Ireland suffered greatly from 1845-1851. In my thesis paper I analyze the long historical path that led to the tragedy, briefly discover the events of the famine and the immediate and long-term consequences.hu_HU
