Absztrakt
This thesis analyzes Emerald Fennell’s Saltburn (2023) using social class and symbolic frameworks, focusing on themes of class, desire, and envy. It examines how the film portrays the divide between the wealthy Catton family and the protagonist, Oliver, through narrative and visual elements. The study explores how symbolism, names, and music reflect the psychological transformation of Oliver and the social tensions within the story. Ultimately, it highlights how class dynamics shape desire and identity in the film. The chapters include the clash of class envy and desire, the symbolism in the film, and the analysis of all the characters.
