Contraception which is also known as birth control are methods used in preventing pregnancy. It has always been practiced since during the ancient era with very limited methods. Modern contraceptive methods have a variety of options mostly focused on the females to prevent pregnancy. Some of the methods include; the pills, IUD/IUS, patches, injectables, condoms, vaginal rings, spermicides, sponges etc. However, contraceptives can still be improved with promising methods such as male pills, pregnancy vaccines, chemical sterilization which are still under study.
