Absztrakt
The Central Balkan Peninsula is a region of significant geological interest due to its complex tectonic history and extensive volcanic activity. Among the most prominent volcanic systems in the area is the Kožuf-Voras Volcanic System, which has been the subject of several studies in the past. However, there is still much to be learned about the petrology and origin of the volcanic rocks in this region. The present study aims to contribute to the understanding of the Kožuf-Voras Volcanic System and its surrounding areas by conducting a petrological investigation of collected samples. Specifically, the study will focus on the elaboration and analysis of thin sections of the samples under a microscope, which will provide insights into their mineralogical and textural characteristics. The ultimate goal of this research is to unravel the source formation of the collected samples, shedding light on the geological processes that have shaped the Central Balkan Peninsula. By combining traditional petrographic techniques with modern analytical tools, we hope to provide a more comprehensive understanding of the Kožuf-Voras Volcanic System and its surrounding areas. This study aims to contribute to the understanding of the geology of the Central Balkan Peninsula by analyzing the composition of the volcanic rocks collected in the region. The results may have implications for the field of volcanology and provide insight into the geological proceses in the area.
