The aim of my thesis is to introduce Palmerston’s political goals and diplomatic policy concerning the Polish question in 1863 and the essence of his political views which contributed to his general foreign policy and the complete defeat of the Polish struggle. The other aspect of the Polish issue was the significance of the support of the British press and public opinion which were fertile soils of the ideas of the Polish immigrants. To understand Palmerston’s political attitude to the international conflicts and the Polish insurrection his general political aims should be illuminated.hu_HU
