The Importance of Geoffrey Chaucer's Vocabulary in the History of the English Language

Abstract

In this work, an attempt will be made to give a comprehensive account of the language, and especially the vocabulary of a Middle English text, namely Geoffrey Chaucer’s The Canterbury Tales; and the present paper also seeks to explain the changes and developmental stages that provided the basis of the language of this masterpiece.
