dc.description.abstractWhile metaphors and other figurative languages are used in the daily lives of humans all around the world—despite the differences in the languages—on its own figurative languages are complex as it is for human beings to understand; therefore, it would be intriguing to see how generated AI systems, i.e., ChatGPT, and others, work. The methodology of this thesis paper includes multiple metaphor types, novel and conventional alike, in ChatGPT in order to understand the way it can understand and process the concepts in figurative languages. This thesis paper will look into these issues clearly.
