dc.description.abstractThe thesis demonstrates through an analysis of The Lords and The New Creatures how Jim Morrison reflected upon the social issues of the American society that greatly influenced the individuals’ life and identity, what did his visions predict about the society, and how he held a mirror against the world to wake people up from their delusional “reality.” Morrison did not only warn his audience about the potential dangers, including corruption, oppression or amorality which surround them daily but he offered a solution for the social issues in his works: he guides individuals through the journey of enlightenment but lets people find their own voice at the same time. He recognized the inner confrontations of people, which derive from the helpless and vulnerable nature of the humans; and how disconnected they are from their own mind. His poems serve as a reminder and a lesson of the essence of finding light in the darkness, to save not just the current generation but the future ones too, to step out of the “comfort zone” and write their own life story instead of letting someone else do it for them; and to inspire the fully conscious people to continuously strive to build a community where equality and individual freedom and coexist.hu_HU
