Absztrakt

In this rushing world the language has to keep pace with the rapid development of technology. Day by day newer and newer ‖things‖ come into existence, and they have to be denominated. One way to name things is if we take an already existing word and give a new meaning to it. Another possible way if we create a brand new word to describe that thing or concept. If these new words are so important as they become the part of the language, the lexicographers‘ task is to write an understandable and logic definition about it for the common people. If the new word is from a special field of science for example chemistry or biology, the lexicographers have to work together with the scholars to create the correct definition in a plain style. This kind of language changing requires newer and newer dictionaries, and the lexicographers‘ job is to collect these words for example from corpuses, examine the meanings and usage and write definitions. Compiling a dictionary reqiures highly-trained experts with good writing skills.
