The skin being the outer covering of the body is frequently exposed to microbes, pollutions and sun rays. Sun rays damage the collagen fibers in the skin resultng in skin wrinkling and formation of age spots. The sun can also cause oxidaive stress, thereby producing free radicals which damage elastin and collagen fibers and cause inflammation. In conclusion, protection of skin is very important in maintaining its barrier and other functions. Development of new formulations and techniques are important to protect the skin and maximize its functions and anti-aging properties.hu_HU
