The present thesis makes an attempt to prove that the battle of cosmic powers is undoubtedly of great importance in certain Singer fairy tales, and its presence, main features, relevance, and possible outcome are all indicated either overtly or covertly in the texts. The primary goal of the thesis is to prove that, in Singer’s fairy tales, there is a special relationship between the cosmic and the earthly spheres, that the conflict of Good and Evil is mirrored in the material world’s context, and that human involvement is an integral part in determining the outcome of the “ancient battle” between the two great powers.
