This thesis topic, provided by Howmet-Köfém Kft is based on achieving reliable manufacturing using advance technologies to enhance the maintenance efficiency. Relevant literature from well-known scholars was explored to check for work that is done previously in this field with goal of finding possible gaps that can be studied further. In first step the Production on forging press was studied and analyzed thoroughly to understand the basics of forging presses and involved steps. Based on understanding of process weak points in process were established which could cause downtime due to failure, most prominently hydraulic system which is the main driving force of press. Then Multiple tools were investigated to check their application and efficiency on forging press. Also, possibility of how these tools can be integrated in order to achieve industry 4.0 goals ware explored. Vibration Sensor was selected, and it was subjected to tests and trails in order to check its efficiency and reliability on forging press during the operational time. Measurements were taken twice to verify the accuracy of results obtained. The results extracted from measurements and analysis were evaluated and recommendations are given to incorporate in policies and procedure to further enhance the efficiency.
