Dermatological diseases with oral mucosal symptoms and their diagnostic and therapeutic possibilities
Absztrakt
dermatological diseases with oral manifestations can have a significant impact on an individual's quality of life. Early diagnosis and effective treatment are crucial in managing these conditions. Dermatological diseases always present in a certain manner, which under most circumstances require us to diagnose and allow us to treat or even cure these diseases. The diagnostic options for these diseases include clinical examination, laboratory testing, and imaging techniques. Proper diagnosis starts with recognising the characteristic lesions. As this is a very diverse field of medicine, so are its diagnostic methods. Therapeutic possibilities are similarly widespread while more and more new methods appear continuously. Navigating in this expanding field of available management options is a rather complex task. Therefore, an ambitious clinician must be up to date with the most recent research developments of his or her field. If full control of the underlying disease is not possible, it is fair at least to relieve some or most of the symptoms associated with the disease conditions. As already presented in this body of work, there are a large number of dermatological diseases that have manifestations in the oral cavity, and these signs often present in a specific manner, usually even providing clues to the proper diagnosis of the condition in question. Dentists with a holistic approach therefore must be aware of the potential oral manifestations of dermatological diseases, a significant role in identifying such lesions as abnormal and to consider these all of these factors in their diagnosis and treatment planning and promptly providing the best care suitable for their patient.
