The thesis examined the romantic comedy and chick-flick elements through the movie Mamma Mia! (2008). Examining such aspects as the color symbolism of blue, white, and red; the mother-daughter relationship’s significance; the changes in female’s presence in contemporary cinema; and the importance of female friendships. These themes were analyzed by using the film studies approach, with the help of various scholars, authors, and professors.
