Abstract

Sylvia Plath’s The Bell Jar is a very complex novel dealing with various issues, like femininity, sexism, social expectations and suicide. The protagonist has many relevant female influences on her life and she tries to identify with them to figure out which future she really wants and through them she discovers who she really is.
