The Unicorn is approached in this paper as a quest for love in the inner world, in the mind of Marian. She meets things that are unexpected and new for her, among which the existing of God is the most important from the point of view of the thesis. It is because we try to compare the love between material and between non-material beings: body and/or mind versus soul and God. As Marian is focused on this quest she meets the wide variety of expressions, manifestations, forms of love presented in the story one after the other like an enumeration through which we get to know the different characters in and around Gaze. Each is unique and uncommon, representing an aspect of living love or the lack of it by their genuine reality. These experiences induce the spiritual development of the protagonist. Her story is linked with that of some other characters’, thus she causes a change in their life, too.hu_HU
