The present study is aimed to give an insight into the nature of two aspectual phenomena, namely, telicity and perfectivity, with special concern to the Hungarian language, where the behaviour of the verbal particle makes these issues more complex and still more fascinating. The manifestation of the two phenomena in Hungarian is going to be discussed from a theoretical as well as from an empirical perspective, on the basis of data collected from Hungarian native speakers.
