dc.description.abstractAllergic rhinitis is an ubiquitous chronic inflammatory disorder of the nasal mucosa caused by allergens, greatly affecting patients' quality of life. Targeting histamine release, inflammation, and immune response modulation, pharmacological tools significantly help to control symptoms. Antihistamines, intranasal corticosteroids, leukotriene receptor antagonists, decongestants, and mast cell stabilizers, each having varying degrees of efficacy and safety profiles, form the cornerstone of allergic rhinitis pharmacotherapy. Recent advancements such as biological therapy against IgE and other immunomodulating medications present intriguing options for those with refractory symptoms. Although present pharmaceutical treatments are quite effective, challenges in optimizing customized therapy, reducing side effects, and improving compliance still exist. This review seeks to give a thorough study of the pharmaceutical managements of allergic rhinitis by examining the mode of mechanism, clinical efficacy, side effects or adverse effects, drug comparisons, and future prospective in therapy approaches.
