In our world, there are many people who are employed and earn income from sources which are not recorded in the official tax books of the government in which these people find themselves. The existence of the shadow economy poses a threat to the official economy as well as the government tax revenue that can be earned. In this thesis, we discuss fully the nature of the shadow economy to understand how prominent it is, as a part of the world we live in, with figures and diagrams.
