Comparing the “Declaration of Independence” and the “Declaration of the Occupation of New York City” from the point of view of communicational purposes, it can be stated that the aims of the documents are basically the same: both texts intends to provide a comprehensive picture of the inequalities and social injustices and also to preserve the fundamental human rights of the society. In spite of the fact that in case of the “Declaration of Independence” these inequalities are caused by the political power of Great Britain, while in the “Declaration of the Occupation of New York City” the financial entities are responsible for the social injustices, both documents convey the same message: the importance of independence.
