In my paper I wish to discuss the identity shift of the protagonist in Hanif Kureishi’s Buddha of Suburbia, elaborating on masculinity and the formation of synchrony of the ethnical diversities in consideration with ethnical and gender identity problems (in the latter, examining the depiction of co-relation between hegemonic masculinity and the submissive roles).
