There is a need for a better understanding of benefits and risk factors of vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC) and promotion of each choice of delivery for women with the history of cesarean section and future outcomes of each case. Cesarean section is an increasing health issue of delivery method worldwide, and is a measure of standard of obstetrician care and is not lowering risks of mortality and morbidity of maternal care. The growing understanding of each delivery option has not changed the practice of VBAC, and the increasing cesarean section continues to triumph VBAC. The most devastating complications of cesarean section and VBAC are in the late stages of pregnancies and delivery when there is increased pressure on scared uteri and rupture of the uterus which may lead to devastating hemorrhage which requires close monitoring. Here we aim to review the most significant factors of developing VBAC and cesarean section practices benefits, complications and cost-effectiveness.
