This thesis focuses on the relationship between DP1 and DP2 prostaglandin receptors and the development of allergic diseases, a significant global health issue. The discovery of prostaglandins was crucial in understanding many physiological functions, including how allergic diseases develop. DP1 and DP2 receptors are key in modulating allergic responses. DP1 is mainly involved in vasodilation and platelet inhibition in early allergic reactions, while DP2 plays a central role in propagating allergic responses through its effect on Th2 cells and eosinophils. Understanding DP1 and DP2 receptors in allergic diseases is crucial, offering insights into both the body's response to allergens and potential new treatments. Their study is central to allergy research and could lead to transformative solutions for those suffering from allergic diseases.
