Current therapies of cardiovascular diseases have potency in reducing the risks. However, there are limitations and residual risks that remain. Recent advancement in medicine has allowed researchers to come up with a new strategy using antisense oligonucleotide and small-interfering RNA to target metabolic regulators present lipid metabolism which were once inaccessible and ‘undruggable’ by the conventional drugs.
