Azerbaijan was also one of the 15 countries that got independence on 18 October 1991, after the dissolution of the Soviet Union. The collapse of the Soviet Union affects negatively the economy of Azerbaijan in the early years of independence. Thus, Azerbaijan faced many political and social difficulties at that time. Azerbaijan needed to join international organizations to overcome these difficulties. However, some member states, as a Russian Federation, have a direct positive impact on the economy of Azerbaijan individually, but in general, CIS cannot be considered a successful integration for Azerbaijan from the establishment till now.hu_HU
