Haemophilia is a group of hereditary disorders caused by decreased activity of clotting factors, resulting in an increased risk of haemorrhage that may be fatal if left untreated. Haemophilia patients are often, unfortunately, refused access to dental treatment because dentists do not have the knowledge and confidence to provide the necessary care. Haemophilia patients have been linked with a greater prevalence of dental caries and periodontal diseases. This study explores the reasons for this, and how patients and dentists can be proactive in improving this situation. The purpose of this study is to highlight the lack of awareness of haemophilia with special emphasis on the dental management of patients with this disorder, and hopes to provide a useful review containing key information for readers and dental physicians.hu_HU
