Absztrakt

My thesis aims to raise the issues of contemporary food politics. For my analysis, I use a film, Okja directed by Bong Joon-ho. This paper reflects on several issues such as food insecurity and problems with organic food. Furthermore, the exploitation of the animals and the changing relationships between humans and animals emerge as well. I study food politics through the film, whereas the corrupt practices of a corporation destroy the life of an innocent girl and her loved pet. What is more, the drawbacks of the industrialized livestock industry are demonstrated through the slaughterhouses. The aim of my thesis is not to oppose meat, rather to call attention to that the appearance of capitalism and mass production have had a negative impact on society.
