The study delves into the various classes of antipsychotic drugs commonly prescribed for schizophrenia, including typical and atypical antipsychotics, and their respective mechanisms of action. Additionally, the research investigates the challenges associated with medication adherence and the impact of long-term pharmacological treatment on patients' quality of life. The thesis aims to provide a comprehensive analysis of the benefits and limitations of pharmacological interventions in schizophrenia, ultimately contributing to the understanding and improvement of therapeutic strategies for individuals living with this condition.
