dc.description.abstractIn this literature-review thesis, an in-depth investigation into the complexities of computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) technologies in the dental industry will be conducted. A chapter will be dedicated to discussing the history and progression of this technology, while other chapters will address the classification, types, components, and materials utilized in CAD/CAM systems. Moreover, the fabrication of dental prostheses using CAD/CAM technology will be highlighted, while the financial and clinical aspects of implementing this technology will be considered. The thesis will explore the current applications of CAD/CAM in dentistry, evaluating its inherent benefits, potential drawbacks and anticipated future advancements in order to provide a broad overview of the developments in this technology as well as the potential impact that it may have on the field of dentistry, including clinical practice, and dental education.
