This thesis explores current and emerging pharmacological strategies for the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease, a progressive neurodegenerative disorder with significant global impact. The work reviews conventional therapies such as cholinesterase inhibitors and memantine, as well as novel approaches including monoclonal antibodies and experimental agents targeting amyloid, tau, and inflammation. Diagnostic advancements, including biomarkers and cognitive assessment tools, are also discussed. Recent controversies regarding the use of statins and NSAIDs are addressed, along with antioxidant and metabolic therapies. The thesis concludes with an evaluation of disease-modifying approaches and the ongoing challenges in translating preclinical findings into effective clinical interventions.
