Romantic Solitude in Philip Larkin's Poetry

Abstract

In this essay I would like to highlight that though Larkin associated himself with the Movement, and, as a consequence, tried consciously to ignore Romantic principles, he is inevitably part of that tradition in some ways. I would like to focus on the values and views he shares with Wordsworth in particular.
