The main focus of this thesis is finding out of whether or not marijuana (cannabis) can be used as a treatment against cancer or if it is carcinogenic. There has been debate as to whether marijuana (cannabis) and its endo-cannabinoid system process is cyto-protective or cyto-toxic, but it appears it can be both. Epidemiological studies around the development of cancer in cannabis smokers have been similarly inconclusive as to whether natural cannabinoids are pro- or anti-carcinogenic.
