dc.description.abstractColorectal cancer is the most common cancer in the gastrointestinal system. It is the third most common cancer in the world and the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths. It seems in the coming times that colorectal cancer is going to remain one of the major causes of cancer-related mortality worldwide; therefore, pursuing research in this area tirelessly is relevant to progressing the treatment methodologies and enhancing the chances of survival with more accurate and less invasive diagnostic facilities. A wide variety of therapeutic options are available for colorectal cancer, yet it remains one of the deadliest cancers. Options, from surgery and older chemotherapeutic agents to newer biologic therapy, are employed daily by clinicans in the treatment of this deadly disease.
