| dc.description.abstract | In my comparison, I intended to emphasize the concepts of gender role representation in the narratives, the social expectations of the early and mid-twentieth century portrayed in the works, the descriptions of female mental health issues (Shorter 3), and the romantic relationships of The Great Gatsby and The Bell Jar's female protagonists. The interdisciplinary analysis of the subject matter for my thesis included historical and psychological viewpoints too. | |
