Better understanding of the molecular mechanisms, has enabled the development of novel targeted agents, including inhibitors of PARP, CDK4/6, PI3K/AKT/mTOR, multiple kinases, or immune therapies, for the treatment of specific molecular subtypes of Breast Cancer. From my research, I can see that clearly, targeting the estrogen receptor has proved to be one of the most powerful treatment modalities against HR+ Breast Cancer.However, despite all the advancements, metastasising triple negative breast cancer remains a deadly disease with limited treatment options. Further research is required in order to provide better treatment options for TNBC patients, whose mortality rate is much higher than of the other subtypes of breast cancer.
