The role of inflammation and genetics in periodontal disease
Absztrakt
Periodontitis is a multifactorial inflammatory illness that affects the gingiva. Inflammation destroys the supporting tissues around the teeth in patients with periodontitis. The vulnerability of the host to periodontal infections is important in the pathogenesis of periodontitis. The primary determinant of host vulnerability is the genetic component.Researchers are increasingly emerging and applying diagnostic tools in medical diagnosis based on genomics, proteomics, and metabolomics to improve and predict patient reactions to targeted therapy in current science.
