NMD's are a severe disease effecting the musculoskeletal, and neurological bodily structures. Over the course of this thesis, we dive deep into the current and the potential therapeutic options known in the realm of pharmacology. Drugs such as Riluzole (a key pharmaccotherapy for NMD's) and their associated limitations in regards to their contraindications and side effects alike. more recent technology employing viral vectors to potentially transfer correct genetic material to help and bolster the body against the disease.
