On the evening of September 10, 2001, citizens of the United States of America would not have thought that the events of the following day would change their lives forever. On September 11, presumably members of the militant Islamic al-Qaeda terrorist group have hijacked four commercial airplanes, of which two was intentionally crashed into the World Trade Center in New York City, one into the Pentagon and the fourth into a field near to Shanksville, Pennsylvania. The world was anxiously waiting for the U.S.’s response, since it was long ago that a foreign country would manage an attack on U.S. soil. The United States responded to the attacks by launching the “War on Terror,” which meant the invasion of Afghanistan and Iraq. Ever since the United States has been trying to solve the problems of the terrorist attacks and will do everything to prevent such horrifying events. In view of the fact, that 9/11 had been a determinative event on our contemporary history, I intend to characterize the events on the basis of the effects and consequences of it. I will write about the various stages and levels of changes, which have followed the terrorist attacks, as well as the changes that evolved because of them.hu_HU
