Knowledge of etiology, pathophysiology and treatment in Parkinson's disease has increased in the past 203 years since the first clear description of the disease was made. However, plenty of ground is yet to be covered and discovered. The symptomatic treatment has been beneficial, but it includes not favourable side effects and decrease in efficiency only several years after initiation of the medications. Symptomatic pharmacologic treatment, such as levodopa, is covered along with novel pharmacological approaches. Additionally, deep brain stimulation is as well covered.hu_HU
