Absztrakt

The aim of this thesis is to analyse the European Union's Digital Markets Act as a contemporary measure to tackle the challenges arising from high concentration of power in digital platforms. It highlights the way in which the DMA aims to tackle problems of market dominance, gatekeeping power, unfair competition and weakness of competition law. The study is enhanced by the comparative view of regulatory developments in the UK, the USA, China and India. The thesis focuses on the strengths and weaknesses of the EU model by making comparisons of these jurisdictions. Overall, the study is relevant, timely, and significant as digital market regulation is an important topic in global competition law. The thesis also offers valuable contributions for future policy-making and the improvement of the digital market governance system.
